‘Plug and Play’ CNC Machine Definition for All CAM Applications

HAVERHILL, MA.  February 21, 2008  IMS Software, the pioneering developer of advanced NC postprocessing, verification and simulation solutions has announced the immediate availability of IMSunify for V5.

IMSunify for V5 allows a single CATIA V5 machine model to be used for all phases of the CNC programming process:  toolpath generation, postprocessing, and verification/simulation.

IMSunify for V5 addresses a common problem: multiple definitions of machine kinematics defined when programming a CNC machine – first in the CAM system, for generation of the toolpath, then again in the postprocessor, and finally in the verification and simulation software. Three definitions are labor intensive to create and maintain, and greatly increase the chance for errors if they are not kept synchronized.

IMSunify for V5 leverages the machine model defined and built in V5, using the definition directly for NC postprocessing with IMSpost, and controller emulation with IMSce for v5 (for integrated G-code simulation within V5).

This enables a true “plug and play” solution within the CATIA V5 environment, with any machine model built in CATIA, with any number of linear and rotary axes, automatically combining with any of more than 40 different library CNC controller definitions from IMS.
